Props, Location and Costume

The locations that we will use will be different rooms throughout the house, especially n a bathroom and hallway as in the original music video, it is these two settings which feature in most of the video and play an important part to the narrative.

The costume for the male character in the video will consist of casual, everyday clothing; including jeans and a jumper. However he will  also wear a wedding ring which is effective for the narrative, showing that he is married.

As with the male characters costume, the female will also be dressed in casual clothing to link with the setting of it being in a home, therefore created verisimilitude.

All of these props are vital for the music video as they are important to the narrative. They are also common iconography that you would expect to see in a home, therefore creating verisimilitude However, there will also be a breezeblock featured which is not conventional for iconography of a home, but is vital for the lyrics as it brings the song and the video together.

First Music Video Choice

We contemplated recreating this music video as we thought that it was an effective video with the different scenery and the range of lighting, cinematography and mise-en-scene. As well, we had access to the different settings such as a woods and a bedroom, therefore it would be easy for us to reenact. However, we came to the conclusion that we would not be able to produce a video to the same high standard, as it featured iconography that he would not be able to use such as police cars, therefore we decided to not use this video.

Chosen Music Video

We decided to use this music video to reenact as we felt it was very creative and clever. We also felt that the location and actors would be fairly simple to be able to perform and we knew that we has access to film the video in a similar setting. In addition, we also are able to edit the video to play in reverse the same as the original; which will appear very effective.
